WEBINAR: Bridging the Finance Gap

How Receivable Financing can Streamline Capital towards Last-Mile Distributors

Watch the recording of an exciting webinar in which Solaris Offgrid's CEO and co-founder, Siten Mandalia 👨‍🚀, and PaygOps' Fintech Business Lead, Manon Dubois 👩‍🚀 joined forces to explore the potential of receivables financing for the Paygo industry and introduced our Receivable Finance Platform, an open and interoperable financing platform created to deliver credit to the last-mile, and the backbone in our Fintech initiatives to resolve the bottleneck in last-mile financing.

Will Paygo ever bridge its capital gap? A decade after the appearance of the first Paygo solar products in East Africa, a whole new previously unbanked rural customer segment has gained access to life-changing energy amenities. However, despite a solid potential for growth and impact, scalability challenges remain, as Siten analyses it in a recent interview.

Access to finance, in particular, weighs on the growth trajectory of most distributors, who struggle with cash flow imbalances, unfitted financing offers and high capital cost. Costly due diligence drives investors away from smaller businesses, creating a strong concentration of investments in larger firms and tickets. This debt mismatch challenge has a direct impact on low-income customers, who fundamentally need affordable energy assets.

We believe in solutions. With the development of our receivables trading platform and building upon our recognised inclusive Fintech leadership, we are on track to give distributors and investors access to untapped capital markets, where liquidity is unlocked over assets at lower risks and costs than current Paygo financing solutions (learn more about the pilot we ran with different partners here)
